Paul was born in the East End of London and educated in public schools in NW London.

Despite a strong leaning towards mathematics, as for most mathematicians, he developed a strong interest in the arts, in particular oil and acrylic impressionism.

Relatively late in life his interest in painting took off when his children (6!) bought him a set for Christmas.

From that point on he became a prolific acrylic artist specialising mostly in landscape impressions often sourced from photos.

He lives with his youngest child in Cambridge
